About BidCopilot
We didn’t build this for software people. We built it for us.
Three contractors got tired of waiting for estimating software that made sense in the field. So we wrote down what it should be, and then we built it.
Built by contractors, for contractorsWhen I started my first contracting business, I estimated jobs the way most contractors still do today: experience, a calculator, a scratch pad, Excel, and Word. For years, that’s how I got by.
But as the company grew, the process got harder to manage. Spreadsheet errors. Formatting issues. Inconsistent proposals. Three versions of the same document. Every estimator had his own system, and every salesperson had his own way of presenting it.
So I went looking for software, and everything I found missed the mark. Some platforms were too expensive. Others were loaded with features I’d never touch. Most were complicated enough that the average contractor would never use them consistently.
What I wanted was simple. A system that let someone with twenty years in the field take what was on his scratch pad and turn it into a professional, organized estimate and proposal in minutes.
Eventually I stopped waiting for someone else to build it. I brought the problem to two industry partners who had seen the same thing from their own side of the business, and the three of us started sketching out what it should look like. That’s where BidCopilot came from.
The best estimators I’ve ever met didn’t learn the trade from software. They learned it in the field, one job at a time. We designed BidCopilot to capture that knowledge and make it easy to present professionally and consistently, every time, by everyone on the team.
Every feature came from a problem one of us hit while operating and growing construction companies. And it had to be affordable. Small and mid-sized contractors shouldn’t pay thousands a month for tools that help them estimate work, manage customers, and grow.
What you see today is the starting point, not the finish line. We’re building continuously, and the roadmap is driven by what our customers tell us they need. Contractors have outgrown their software before and had to start over on a painful migration. That won’t happen here. As your company grows, the platform grows with it.

Every trade, the same four problems
Born in civil construction. True everywhere else.
BidCopilot was born out of civil construction contracting, but the problems are the same everywhere. Roofers, electricians, plumbers, painters, landscapers, HVAC and concrete contractors all wrestle with the same four things.
-
Building the estimate
Getting what’s in your head and on the scratch pad into numbers you’d stand behind.
Built from your own catalog and unit prices, in minutes.
-
Presenting the proposal
One professional document, the same every time, no matter who on the team sends it.
One branded proposal, identical no matter who sends it.
-
Organizing customer information
One place for the customer, the job, and every version of what you quoted them.
Customer, job and every quote version in one record.
